Castlefields Health Centre’s
Our Practice’s goal is:
To deliver a high quality personalised service provided by a caring team.
Booking Of Appointments During Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the UK we are changing how we book all face to face appointments. The online booking appointment system has been temporarily suspended at the surgery and we ask all patients to use either eConsult or to ring the practice to book an appointment. This will ensure that we are able to fully assess risk before appointments are booked at the surgery.
As you are aware the practice uses eConsult and patients are advised to seek advice via this service. Please visit the services section on our website for further information and access to the eConsult service
For any general information on coronavirus please visit www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19

Welcome to the Castlefields Health Centre website where we hope you will find enhanced convenience added to first class healthcare. Find out when we are open and how to see a member of the team. We’ve made life a little easier with practice updates, news on the latest health issues and even access to repeat medication all at your fingertips.
Castlefields Health Centre was the first practice to be built in Runcorn new town. For more than 50 years, the team has endeavoured to create an efficient but friendly way of providing the highest possible level of health care. We are part of the NHS and the services we provide are free of charge. We moved into our new impressive premises in the Village Square in May 2012. The new modern and larger building has provided some much needed space for more consultation rooms and more treatment rooms, a large meeting room and well- equipped training suite, all of which have enabled a variety of new services to be offered to our patients.
YOUR GOOD HEALTH
Access to a wide range of healthcare services is a key element of a good local practice. We don’t just want to see you when you’re ill we want to make sure you stay healthy too. Check out how we can cover both bases with our clinics and services.
Our professional team will ensure you receive the best attention at all times whether you’re attending a specialist clinic or a routine appointment. If you’re new to the area registration is easy and comes with the comfort of discretion and confidentiality assured.
NHS ENGLAND VISIT
When NHS England last visited us, they looked at our policies and procedures and talked to us about patient care. They told us that they do not have any concerns relating to the work carried out at Castlefields Health Centre and that some of the great work we are doing can be used as examples of best practice to be adopted elsewhere.
NHS BREAST SCREENING
All female patients who are registered at Castlefields Health Centre and aged 50 - 70 will be invited to attend for a three yearly breast screening mammogram in March of this year.
Running in conjunction with this programme is something called a 'randomised age extension trial' which means that some ladies who are ages 47 - 49 and 71 - 73 may also be invited to attend for a mammogram too. If ladies who are in these age ranges are invited, a leaflet explaining the reason for their invite is included with the appointment letter.
Routine screening stops when a lady is 71 or over but this does not mean you lose the right to have mammogram screening every three years. All you need to do is ring the breast screening service (tel: 01925 275500) to request an appointment.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE A CHAPERONE PRESENT DURING YOUR CONSULTATION, THEN PLEASE ADVISE THE RECEPTIONIST WHEN BOOKING YOUR APPOINTMENT. THANK YOU
TRY THE NEW NHS APP!

You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical record and more.
